While Hug Melody® Group classes focus on nurturing a love of music and supporting essential developmental skills for babies and toddlers, Hug Melody® SOLO and DUO provide a natural transition into structured music lessons.

What Makes Hug Melody® Unique?

Hug Melody® SOLO and DUO were created by music educator and therapist Kana Kamitsubo-Markovic, drawing on over 20 years of experience teaching young children. Class Activities & Structure

Singing & Solfege

Familiar songs ease your child in, followed by original Hug Melody® songs that invite singing, clapping, and dancing

Instrument Play

Shakers, bells, and drums bring out joy and help your child practice rhythms and melodies.

Music Theory

Learning to read music notation and practice rhythms through fun & success-oriented music activities and games.

Music Instruction

Music lesson on a chosen instrument such as piano, voice, ukulele and guitar.

How To Get Started

Enroll to our school semester.

For new students enrolling in the Hug Melody® Solo class, we offer a 5-week starter package to begin your musical journey.
For the Hug Melody® Duo class, your child can join at any time based on availability and once a suitable partner is found. Tuition will be prorated according to the number of weeks remaining in the current semester.

  • Hug Melody® is our original, comprehensive music education curriculum for young children ages 0 to 6, designed and created by board-certified music therapist and music educator Kana Kamitsubo. The goal is to nurture each child’s love of music and enhance their natural musical abilities, while providing engaging instruction that gradually guides them toward learning instruments.

    Our interactive mommy-and-me class for babies and toddlers focuses on music-making, movement, and early learning skills through songs, instruments, and playful activities. As children grow, those around 3.5 to 4 years old can transition to Hug Melody® DUO and SOLO classes, which support the further development of musical skills and a deeper understanding of music.

  • We’ll help you choose! Hug Melody® Group class is for children 6 months old to 4 years old. Hug Melody® DUO class is for 3.5 years and up who are ready to start music instruction. Hug Melody SOLO class is for 4 years old and up who is ready to start music instruction. Music Lessons on Piano, Guitar/Ukulele, Flute and Voice are for students older than 7 years old.

    Music Therapy is for children with special needs. Musicreative™ is for all abilities for all ages who thrive with customized and tailored instruction.

  • For Hug Melody® SOLO and DUO, students can choose Voice, Piano or Ukulele. If you are not sure which instrument to choose, we can expose your child to try all, too.
